UEC currently operates two programs: Camp United - An 8 week summer day camp that begins mid June and operates Monday - Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The camp features activities in sports, arts, education, and social events. The camp is held at Forest Park High School. Click here for map & directions. The cost is $85 per week, along with a one-time $20 registration fee. A 10% discount applies for families sending more than one camper. TOTAL CAMPERS ATTENDED SUMMER 2008: 249 After School Club - Our after school program operates Monday - Friday at Mt. Washington Elementary School from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Activities include Spanish, American Sign Language, health & nutrition education, walking club, reading, mathematics, arts & crafts, music club, chess club, scrabble club, and recreational sports & games. After School Club was recently featured on the WJZ evening news (see story) TOTAL CLUB MEMBERS REGISTERED FOR FALL 2008: 96 Pay Tuition For After School Club UEC’s program participants represent a culturally and economically diverse group of Baltimore City youths. UEC’s overall goal is to give participants a unique and fulfilling experience which they can build on as they transition from adolescense to young adults. Our programs are well structured, fun, and produce measurable results. UEC has had a profound impact on many (past) participants, who continue their involvement as mentors of the programs. |
